As nations all over the world continue to grapple with the effects of the Corona virus pandemic , more stringent measures are being taken to curtail the spread of the Corona Virus.
In the US State of California one such measure that has drawn sharp criticism from the christian community is the ban on singing at public places of worship. Authorities in California have issued a directive that disallows any kind of singing in churches. The directive also includes ban of playing instruments like trumpets , saxophone etc.
Reacting to the directive Albert Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, penned a column criticizing a California county for going too far with a coronavirus-themed order banning singing.
Not too long ago large Black Lives Matter public gatherings where tens of thousands of people gathered and screamed on top of their voices to protest police brutality and racial injustice was allowed to pass. This has caused churches to ask questions about the double standards.
